Congresswoman Sheri Biggs Votes to Advance President Trump’s Agenda, Protect South Carolina Families with Passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Sheri Biggs (R-SC-03) today voted to pass H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The bill represents a dramatic step forward in codifying President Trump’s America First Agenda and delivering urgently needed relief to working families across South Carolina's Third District.
“Today the House passed, once again, President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill. The bill protects working families. No taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime, stronger borders, and a crackdown on waste, fraud, and abuse – this is President Trump’s blueprint for a stronger, safer, and more prosperous nation,” said Congresswoman Biggs. “It is clear that we must continue to lead on President Trump’s agenda – mandated by the American people – to lift us out of the treacherous four years of the Biden / Harris Administration.”
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act stops what would have been the largest federal tax grab in our nation’s history. Thanks to this legislation, over 79,000 families will hold on to their full child tax credit, nearly 40,000 small businesses will escape a crushing 43.4% tax rate, and 93% of taxpayers will keep their standard deduction intact. That means more breathing room, more savings, and more security for the families who work hard and play by the rules.
Additionally, it unleashes opportunity. The One Big Beautiful Bill is expected to help preserve over 8,000 manufacturing jobs in our district, lock in $800 million in wages, and pump $1.5 billion into our local economy. That’s not just numbers on paper – that’s paychecks, jobs, and hope for our communities.
Even though the Senate stripped out some of the more conservative reforms through procedural means, what remains is still a powerhouse of America First policy. Stronger borders, lower taxes, and less wasteful spending – it’s all there. And it’s a foundation we can build on.
